My Header Image & Vintique App

Yellow Fall Leaves - November 2012

Rain = Sunny?

Yes, I know what you may be thinking. Why did I use such a sunny photo for a name that references "rain"? I just couldn't do it. I couldn't use a dreary day to reflect my personality, and besides, Rainy Day Doodle is simply a phrase I use to describe my doodle style, which is often intricate, time consuming, and perfect for a rainy day.

About the Photo

The original image, was one that I took while walking my dog at my parents home in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I live on the coast, so we don't quite have the abundance of fall colors that they have in the more inland parts of NC. I am horrible with plant and tree names, so if you know what kind of tree this is, please leave me a comment. I just know that the leaves were a beautiful color and when I caught the sunlight through them, it brightened it up further. I edited this photo in Vintique, one of my favorite photo apps at the moment.

One of my favorite things about Vintique are the unique filters. I have not used a photo app yet that created such a beautiful teal blue for the sky and brought out the yellows in just the right way so that the yellow doesn't take over the entire picture. Here is a sample of the before and after. I used the "Delight" filter in Vintique to enhance the colors.

It just amazes me how beautiful the colors are with the addition of one filter. Although I feel that Vintique is a bit limited in terms of frames, the most important aspect of this app would be the amazing filters. Luckily, you have several options for editing the pre-made filters or you can create your own from layers of vignettes, textures, and overlays, as well as other editing options provided. You can always save it as a high res and import it to a different app if your truly feel that you want to add a border that is not offered in Vintique.

So there you have it. You've learned that Jen is bright and sunshiny, and that Vintique is a must have. I have a feeling I'll be using this one for quite some time.
